The Seven Churches of Revelation

The Seven Congregations of Revelation, known as the Seven Churches of Asia Minor, are the Congregations of the most important cities of this region at the beginning of Christianity mentioned in the book of Revelation and in the New Testament. At present, all the ruins of these ancient cities are in Turkey.

The seven churches mentioned are:

  • Ephesus ( Revelation 2:1-7)
  • Izmir (Revelation 2:8-11)
  • Pergamos (Revelation 2:12-17)
  • Thyatira (Revelation 2:18-29)
  • Sardis (Revelation 3:1-6)
  • Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13)
  • Laodiceia (Revelation 3:14-22)

In this 7-day half-pension tour, we will visit the ruins of the Seven Churches of the Revelations and Istanbul. Program for groups.

    1

    COUNTRY OF ORIGIN - ISTANBUL - IZMIR

    Arrival, reception and transfer from the airport to the hotel. Accommodation.

    IZMIR - PERGAMOS - THYATIRA - IZMIR

    We start the day with a tour in Izmir and then continue to Pergamos where we will visit the Acropolis, ancient city of Pergamon with its pagan temples and the Altar of Zeus. We will continue to the Aesclepion healing center. In the afternoon we will follow to Thyatira, another of the Seven Churches. We will visit the remains of a basilica and other ruins of the Roman period. We will continue to Izmir, old Smyrna. Accommodation (breakfast, dinner).

    IZMIR - SARDIS - PHILADELPHIA - PAMUKKALE

    On this day trip to Sardis, another of the Seven Churches mentioned by the Apostle John. Then we will visit Philadelphia, another center of the Christian congregations, visiting the ruins of a city built in II BC by King Eumenes. After Philadelphia we will continue to Pamukkale, where we will spend the night in one of the thermal hotels in the area (breakfast, dinner).

    PAMUKKALE - LAODICEA - EPHESUS - ISTANBUL

    After a visit to Laodicea, we proceed to Ephesus. We will visit the final domicile of Mary, the mother of Jesus, where she spent her last days. We will visit ancient Ephesus to see the old synagogue, the theater, where St. Paul prayed (Acts 10), the Library of Celsus and other sights. At the end of our visit, we will go to the airport to embark to Istanbul. Arrival and lodging (breakfast, dinner).

    ISTANBUL

    Today we will visit Istanbul, the only city in the world situated on two continents. We will visit Topkapi Palace, St. Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Hippodrome where the Byzantine revolts took place. In the afternoon we will visit the Gran Bazar, one of the most beautiful popular markets in the world. Return to the hotel (breakfast, dinner).

    ISTANBUL

    On the second day in Istanbul, visit the spice market and shortly after make a beautiful boat trip through the Bosphorus Strait, which divides Istanbul between Europe and Asia. Rest of the day free for shopping and personal activities (breakfast, dinner).

    ISTANBUL - DESTINATION COUNTRY

    At the appointed time, transfer to the airport to travel to the destination country (breakfast).
